West County Orthodontics was the first orthodontic practice in the St. Louis area west of HWY 270. Dr. Derril Heiland began the practice in 1969. Dr. Mason joined the practice in 1994 and worked with Dr. Heiland until he retired in 1999.

Our office location is especially convenient to Parkway West High and Parkway West Middle, but we enjoy patients from all over the region.

My older daughter is now in phase 2 of her orthodontics, after using a different orthodontist for phase 1 a few years ago.  I kick myself for not finding Dr. Mason sooner for my older daughter. I chose Dr. Mason's practice for my oldest daughter's orthodontics because she took the time to explain her recommendations and why they differed from other practices we visited while making the decision and answered all my questions patiently. Her "bedside manner" has reaffirmed that decision with every visit. In fact, she called me in the evening after major events (like putting in the expander and actually getting braces on) to check on her patient and see if I had any questions/concerns. At the same time, she made sure that my daughters understood how to take care of their teeth while their braces were on, and always let us know how things were progressing as well as what to expect in upcoming visits. She was easy to reach after hours the time wires slipped out on a Saturday. Even my daughters' dentist office has raved about how responsive Dr. Mason's office staff are! My daughters absolutely love their new smiles and the confidence they have gained is worth the investment in their orthodontics. THANK YOU to DR. MASON and her friendly, caring staff. She and her staff are amazing. Very warm, friendly, supportive. Dr. Mason even called us the evening of the day they had their braces put on FROM HOME to see how they were doing. So far, we have been very pleased with her progress and the polite and efficient staff. My daughter is usually pretty reserved. Instead,  she comes in to the office with a smile,  does not hesitate to ask questions and is her happy silly self while there.
